For anyone who has been pregnant, or even around a pregnant woman, you know that they normally fill their faces with food. Yep, doesn't sound pretty, but it is true. And don't you dare come between them and their favorite food. You might lose a finger or two.
But lately, this just isn't the case for me. I haven't eaten much at all this week. I think the boy has actually eaten more than I have. My appetite is just gone. I cook something take a few bites and that is it. It no longer tastes good or I just have no desire to eat it. I have already lost 7lbs with this pregnancy. For someone of normal weight this would be a big concern. But with my weight, I am supposed to gain minimal weight while pregnant. I actually lost about 10lbs while pregnant with Hunter, but I ate alllll the time then. This is new to me. I am a compulsive overeater/binge eater. Diagnosed and everything. So for me to leave food on the plate and halloween candy in the box it just something I have never really experienced before. I am a little concerned that I don't feel like eating.
Any other pregnant ladies go through this?

Happy Halloween!
Since Matt was going to be absent from the Halloween festivities this year, we did some fun stuff last weekend. I have been trying for days to upload a video of Matt chasing Hunter dressed in his bat suit around the house, but I can't seem to get it to work. I am currently seeing if I can upload it to youtube and then copy it from there. What a pain!
What an adorable bat!
Matt and the baby bat:
Carving the pumpkin. I kept putting the pumpkin guts on Hunter and he was such a wuss! He did not enjoy the gooey guts in the least:
Oh Fark. I lost my farking spoon.
No farking way I am reaching in there to get it.
Dad helping:
We are just mean parents:
We are lucky this year in Faro to have a parents and tots group up and running. It goes for three days a week, 2 hours each time. Yesterday we had their halloween party. The kids were adorable. Although, Hunter was scared of the Incredible Hulk mask and older kid wore.
Snack time!
Hunter loves the woman who runs this playgroup. He didn't want to sit with me at all for story time- just beside her!

I am pooped.
I am a morning person. Always have been and probably always will be. The boy is also a morning person. However, this getting up at 5:30am is driving me nuts. He is awake and ready for the day. Then he naps for 2 hours in the afternoon and goes to bed at 7pm. We tried keeping him up a bit later, but it didn't make a difference.
I have been super busy during the day with Matt gone and keeping up to the boy. At least I am getting my energy back now that I am into the second trimester. I am up to 21 pairs of booties for the big craft fair in November. I am trying to get at least one pair done each day. If I have 30 pairs ready I would be happy with that.
Tomorrow is the Halloween party for the playgroup that Hunter attends. I made mini cupcakes iced as pumpkins this afternoon for it. It should be pretty damn cute to see the little kids all dressed up.
Well I am headed to the sofa to relax and then I bet I will be in bed well before nine tonight. I am such a pansy.
ps.
Stacey or Heather- you must come to the craft fair and buy the matching pair of booties that I made. They have dogsleds on them. Perfect gift for an auntie to give her favorite munchkins or for a mommy to give her own kidlets.

For Auntie Deiss
Hurray for Neighbours!
I love living in Faro.
When Hunter and I returned home from playgroup my driveway and step were all shoveled off. My awesome neighbour across the street did it while I was gone.

Tulugak
Tulugak has been getting to be a real handful lately! He is living up to his name, Tulugak is raven, and he hangs onto my legs and squaks at me all day. And if he isn't attached to my leg, he is is getting into trouble or stealing something shiny. What a boy.
Helping me make pancakes on the weekend:
Mamamamamamama!!!! I want to eat the pancakes NOW!!!
Getting caught trying to climb onto the kitchen table. Since Matt is gone again for a couple of weeks I have only one kitchen chair out to reduce this problem!!

Our Truck in the Ditch
This happened last weekend, and of course I have been harassing my poor husband ever since. He tried stopping at a stop sign at the bottom of a hill and it is glare ice. The truck just went right across the street and into the ditch. The front end is so heavy with the diesel engine and the roads so slick Matt couldn't get it out on his own, and neither could any other truck that offered to help! In the end a front end loader had to tow it out. Funny- everyone in town thinks I did it, so I am having fun telling them the real story. There were already tracks into the ditch, so Matt at least wasn't the first person to do it! I guess it happens often!
And now some cute pictures:
Too bad Matt has his eyes close for this one! He was getting Hunter ready to play outside. It wasn't that cold, but it was wet, so the snowpants came out:
The first bit of snow we got about 10 days ago. We have more now.
And some goofy smiling pictures of the boy:

Thank you Fawn!
There are some awesome Whitehorsians out there. Fawn would be one of them!
Thanks for checking out that coat for me today. You are so busy, yet you found the time to do that for me. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.
You can request a favour anytime!!
ps. What do you call a person who lives in Whitehorse? Whitehorsians can't be right, can it?

And I Shall Name It...
Skeletor!!!
I finally came up with a name for the fetus! I figured it is 15 weeks old now and has gone long enough without a name. So Skeletor it is.
Why Skeletor? Well when I saw the ultrasound picture of Hunter, they creeped me out a lot. There was this one with a little skull with black eye sockets looking at me. So that is what I picture in me!
And really... did you think I would come up with something normal??
Although, I did like Michael's suggestion of TAP- Tiny Abdominal Parasite.

Can Anyone in Whitehorse do me a Favour???
Hey there Whitehorsians!
I was just on the phone with the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Whitehorse. They have a fur coat there, but I cannot purchase it over the phone and they cannot set it aside for me. I reuse the coats to make trim on the booties that I sell.
Is there anyone who could pick it up for me? I can do a money transfer by email for you. My husband will be in town next week and could get it from you.
Thanks!

Sucks to be Sick
I haven't been feeling well the last few days and this morning it has turned into a full blown cold. Yesterday morning I could not stop yakking and was so dizzy Matt had me come down to the health centre to be checked out. Everything seemed fine, but I still felt pretty crappy. So Matt took the morning off of work and took Hunter to play group while I slept. The yakking yesterday really scared me, it was at that point where I could not catch my breath. I am so not a glowing pregnant lady.
I miss sleep. Already I am getting up to pee three times a night. And now with being all stuffed up I am barely sleeping at all during the night. Blah. I am such a whiner.

1 down, 2 to go!
My first trimester is over! Only 26 more weeks to go.... Man that seems like such a long time.
The yakking is definitely improving. I am throwing up maybe once or twice a day now and I have reduced myself down to 2 diclectin a day. Funny though- when I do yak the boy has been trying to make the same noises. It is hard to yak when you are laughing at your kid sounding like a cat bringing up a hair ball. The yakking is much better this pregnancy.
I have had zero weight gain this trimester. I actually ended up losing 6lbs. Probably not from the yakking and more from the loss of appetite. That is come back quickly though! While we were in Whitehorse I felt like I could not stop stuff my face. And of course I am eating weird combinations of food again. This morning I ate leftover elk cutlets, strawberries and chocolate milk. It was delicious.
Matt is working in Faro this week, so we are going to head down to the health centre sometime to listen to the baby's heartbeat. And I believe my first ultrasound will be near the end of November.

Bombs near home
If anyone has been following the news out of BC lately you will have heard about the two bombs aimed at the oil and gas pipelines. Guess what! That is my home! Seriously, I grew up about 15km from there. And yes, 15km is very close when you are talking distances in northern BC. From the helicopter shot it made me a little homesick for the Peace Country!
So what I don't get is if you hate the oil and gas sector so much, how did you get to this place to plant your bomb? Truck? Quad? Those use oil and gas.... People are ridiculous. It is just amazing that someone hasn't been hurt or killed yet.

Spending Money!
We had a very pleasant few days in Whitehorse, although not at all relaxing! Matt took a course on Wednesday and Thursday while I shopped my little heart out. Hunter and I also got to take in the pool for a moms and tots time.
Highlights:
- pool time with the boy
- finding our friends who used to live in Hay River and now live in Whitehorse!
- buying super cheap plants from a store that was closing down
- discovering Liquidation World!
- eating at an awesome Mexican food restaurant
- Matt passing his tests first time around
- cinnamon bun at Braeburn Lodge
- spending enough money at Superstore to get $.25 off per litre of fuel
Lowlights:
- spending waaaaaay too much money on some upgrades to my MacBook Pro
- letting the mac guys have my computer all week, but the problem with it is still not fixed
- having a boy who wakes up at 5:30am
- getting lost in Copper Ridge
- the boy getting all four eye teeth in
And just plain interesting:
- getting onto the elevator with a group of people from Sri Lanka wearing winter coats and mittens while I was just in my t-shirt and Hunter was in a hoody!
- running after a car in the college parking lot that was rolling backwards after the driver went into the building. The doors were locked so I had to watch it roll back, go over a curb, and hit a pole. I left them a nice note on the windshield saying it did not hit anyone or anything else.
And then we drove back in the snow with a grumpy boy in the backseat. Fun to be out, but nicer to be back home!

Whitehorse
Matt has to take a course in Whitehorse this week so Hunter and I are tagging along. His course runs all day Wednesday and Thursday, so we will be exploring Whitehorse while he is working away. Each time we go to the city we only seem to hit Walmart, C.Tire and Superstore so I am looking forward to exploring the other stores around town.
I saw that the public library has a mom and tot reading time and the pool has tot time as well. So we will try to take it all in, as well as some Christmas looking! I have a bunch of ideas for the husband, but I need to make up my own list as well. We are also going to get some fish for our aquarium that we have had in storage for the last three years. Matt has the truck booked in for the regular oil change stuff and we have to see if they can stop the crack in our windshield too. We got a nasty rock hit the other week. But no point replacing the windshield right before they start putting gravel on the snowy roads!
And speaking of snow! It has been snowing here for the last few hours so everything is nice and white. The chickadees are driving the cats insane stocking up on sunflower seeds from the bird feeder. I am so glad I bought that! It keeps us all entertained.
I have just finished up 13 weeks of pregnancy! One more week to go and we are done our first trimester. I am stilling yakking a bit each day, but for the most part I feel just fine. I have lost about 6 pounds since getting pregnant. I am shocked at how quick this pregnancy is going. When I was pregnant with Hunter it seemed to go by so slowly! And I think we have our first ultrasound booked for November 27th. Can't wait to see if it is a girl or a boy!

I GOT IN!
Woohoooo!!! I managed to get myself a table at the Spruce Bog Craft Fair for November. After hearing they were all full, I thought I would get a head start on asking for a table for their Easter Craft Fair. But hurray! They said I can have a table for this event. I just have to become a member and pay the fees.
So on November 15th at the Canada Games Arena, come on by my table (I think I am either #85 or #87) and buy an awesome pair of baby booties! I am going to be sewing my heart out between now and then.

Pie Stealing Squirrel, A Baby Bat and Some Parkas!
Interesting title.... but none of it is related. Too bad, that would have probably made for a more interesting tale.
The Pie Stealing Squirrel:
Last week Hunter and I are eating lunch at the table when I see an adorable squirrel on the deck. Oh look Hunter! A squirrel! So we watch the squirrel. Oh look Hunter! He is eating too, it must be his lunchtime. Ack! That little f*$#er!! He has a peach in his paws! He is stealing my peach pie!!!
I learned my lesson. When using the deck as your outdoor fridge, remember to store the pie in the bbq, not on the side of it.
My poor peach pie... The squirrel was sticking pieces of it into a tree next to the house. He also has big mushrooms in the tree!
A Baby Bat:
Parcel arrived from my mom today. She made Hunters Halloween outfit again this year. He is such a cute little bat! I promise I will get better pictures come Halloween:
Some Parkas!
This I am super duper excited about. I am (oh my god, I am really going to admit it) really starting to enjoy sewing. My mom found these parks patterns and I think I am going to try my hand at making them!!

Potty Fun!!
I got Hunter to pee on his potty three times just today. First when he woke up from after his nap. Then twice this afternoon I just took him down there when I had to go and we both went! It all seems to work better if I pee at the same time, which isn't a problem when pregnant. Now I will be just plain giddy if I can get him to take his super craps in the potty next!!
Live in Whitehorse? Input needed!
Hey there Yukon folks,
So I have heard (thanks for the research Fawn!) that the Spruce Bog craft fair has been full up for weeks. I found an email address and sent a message off just in case. I wish I had heard about this stuff sooner!
Your input needed here:
1. So which other craft fair is really well attended in Whitehorse? I would still really like to go to one, but I want to make sure it has been well attended in the past.
2. Where is a really good spot to have a vehicle serviced? We just need the basic oil change stuff and are wondering where you like and don't like. And is there a really good spot for having a windshield replaced?
Thanks Whitehorsians :)

Barf-a-rama
We had a very pleasant and productive weekend up in Pelly Crossing with Matt. I was able to make 11 pairs of booties and have three more pairs cut out and ready to sew. I also used up some canvas that wasn't working well for the booties and am making northern stockings! Canvas trimmed out with fur to hang on the wall at Christmas. I am sewing up a storm in anticipation of a big craft fair in Whitehorse that I want to attend this fall. People have been very encouraging of me going saying I will sell a heap of booties. So I have my fingers crossed.
We relaxed, went for walks, played with the boy.... A very nice weekend. I yakked a bit- the funniest was we were walking and as usual, a random puppy followed us for our walk. I paused, like usual, to yak in the ditch and the puppy ran over to eat what I was regurgitating, but it was hard not to yak right on the puppy! My husband seemed to enjoy the entertainment.
Good news- Matt is coming home on Thursday instead of Monday! Hurray! I am looking forward to having him home for the weekend.
Today, Hunter and I drove home. It is only a 275km drive back to Faro, but the boy decided to only nap for 80km of it. The sun was in his eyes, so I stopped to put a blanket in the window to block out the sun. Well, I think that might have led to some car sickness. He normally spends the drives napping or looking out the window. About 60km from home (we were listening to the Vinyl Cafe on my ipod) I hear this horrible noise from the back seat and look in my rearview mirror. Oh god. It was horrible. Cottage cheese like barf mixed with grapes, peas, moose meat and a random assortment of other goodies are pouring out of my son at an alarming rate. It was so disgusting. Good thing there was a turnout soon after. I pulled over and got Hunter out of the car seat and his clothes and let him drive the truck while I cleaned. It was disgusting beyond words. Barf everywhere. What did we do before wet wipes were invented? Probably just threw the baby out. It took me about 15 minutes to clean up the back seat enough to get Hunter back into the car seat. I stunk. He stunk. The truck is going to stink forever. Joy.
So an stinky end to a great weekend! The boy seems no worse for wear. Oh! First eye tooth came through this weekend with the other three putting some serious thought into it.
If anyone has ideas for how to get milk/moose barf stink out of truck and car seats, please send it my way. And if anyone knows about this big craft fair that happens at the Winter Games place, please share that info too!
Have a good week everyone!

Congratulations Kim and Ken!!
Kim I have been best friends with since grade 7.
Ken I have been friends with since grade 3.
I missed their wedding last year because I was in labour with Hunter.
Well this morning they have their very own little man!! Congratulations you two and have fun giving him a name!! Of course, I am very jealous since your whole labour and delivery was only 4 hours from start to finish, but I still love you.

Off Again
Hunter and I are heading out tomorrow morning to see Matt up in Pelly Crossing. We will be out until Tuesday! So I hope everyone has a nice weekend!
Today was awesome- first day of play group! 10 kids between 1 and 5 years old came this morning. Funding was found through Active Living (I think this is an RPAY fund). Parents and their kids come to learn about active living! It is running for 6 hours a week until the end of November. Hunter absolutely loved it. He threw balls, coloured, played with other kids, made eyes at the girls and ate goldfish crackers. Does life get any better than that?
And I got him to pee twice today on his potty. This morning though, he peed in his potty then went over the other side of the bathroom and peed even more on the floor!! What a kid.
I have three more assignments to get done by Friday for work. And of course I have left the worst ones until last. Blah, who cares how a house is wired... well unless you are Stacey of course. I am also taking all of my sewing in hopes of creating a mountain of booties this weekend.
And next week I will tell you all about the pie stealing squirrel of Faro. Stay tuned!
