So I have a bit of a predicament on my hands!
Matt has to be back at work on April 27th. That is just 10 days away.
I know that baby will arrive when it wants to arrive, but if baby waits more than 6 more days or so, we will run into a big problem. We asked how long doctors usually wait to induce if you are late and our doctor said 41 weeks and 3 days. So that puts us into next weekend. No good.
I cannot stay here with Hunter on my own. I just cannot keep up to him while being this pregnant. I can barely get him out of the playpen. Matt cannot take him home because we have no one to look after him during the day, plus what happens when Matt is oncall at night and has to go to work. If Matt goes home, I have no mode of transportation. Plus, I don't want to be here by myself and go through labour on my own.
I am sure I will get some nasty comments on this, but today we are going to ask at our doctor appointment about getting induced earlier. I think this might be a hard concept for people to grasp since most can live in the same community they are going to deliver in. It is not easy living away from your home for weeks at a time and being faced with a predicament like this.

I told my mom I was getting induced and she was not happy. Swore up and down I shouldn't do it. I ended up going early all by myself anyways "naturally", but just my water broke. So I had to get induced anyways, no choice! So what's the difference lol. Baby is cooked and ready to come out now.
Who cares what other people think, they are not the ones that are pregnant and in your predicament. This is one stubborn baby, I hope Skeletor soon makes it's appearance.
Good luck!
Word Verification: rearyo :-)
I love it when there is a little word stuck in there
Question from the gal who's yet to pop one out...
Why would people get up in arms about it? You gotta do what you gotta do, right?
I TOTALLY understand! With Ezra we had our return plane tickets booked-so he had to be here by a certain date. Ohhhh, what we women (who live in backward communities) go through!
I am thinking about ya, babe!
Kara who cares this is something that is to be expected and you are right you are not like 5 minutes from the hospital you are in a strange place with nothing of your around to make you feel better. You are really nervous about this you had a not so good experience with Hunter and lets face it you need Matt. So anyone that gives you shit for asking is well an a##hole. I had Ethan on my own and it was not fun I had my Mom and sister-in-law but it is not the same at all. You need to do what is best for you adn if you are that uncomfortable then it might be better for you. Besides I think you go today Baby was waiting to share my bday with me.......I should have went in ont he baby pool.....Love you and praying it will be soon.
Well unless the complainers are going to come help out, then really what good are they?
I can completely understand why you would make that decision....I gave birth without my hubby there, and even though I had family around it wasn't the same...so I can't imagine in your situation without any family around. So no nasty comments for you...but I could have a couple of nasty comments for anyone who gives you a hard time if that would help!!!
You are the ones that are pregnant, you make the decision. There's nothing wrong with an induction (aside from the pain) if the baby is full term. You can get it done, whether your doctor wants it or not.
Do what you need to do.
Since I've never been pregnant, I can't really pass judgement on this :) I say, do what you need to do.
The acutual reason I wanted to leave this comment is because my verification word is "whitypo".
good luck! my goodness what a predicament! sending you all my labour vibes to get that baby out, however it may be.
who would give you a hard time?
big hugs.
xoxo
My first though was that being induced would ruin the contest (not that I entered but... ;-))
Have you tried all the "tricks" for getting labour to happen on it's own? Spicy food, sex, loooong walks etc? I've also heard that foot massage/reflexology works really well too.
All the best!
Thinking about you! Come on baby...give your Mom a break!
..and I'm with Evelyn....
Jennifer
I know of a certain someone who would recommend castor oil.
But baklava could work, too.
you know in your heart and mind what is best for the almost four of you. Do what you want/need. Hey! we all love and support you and just want you and baby to be safe and healthy and HERE finally, dammit!!
well if you really wanted i could come in and look after hunter plus i can drive im just lacking in the vehicle department
Skeletor is full term. Pass along that eviction notice and kick him out! It would be different if you wanted to be induced becuase you wanted to have the baby on a certain day (like the 15th because the moon is in line with the stars and a dog pooped on the 15th rock in your driveway).. well that would be silly. I just hope the doctor will induce you.
Kara, its hard being on your own as it is. i've been there. dont feel bad if you need to be induced. maybe i should go visit you eh :-)..but my 2 monsters??? what do you think? i am itching to go out of here for a bit.
and this is not counting Matt probably need to take a few days off once you guys get home to get all 3 of you situated for a bit.
