So how much have I lost?
30.5lbs!!
Okay, now that number does include the 11lbs that I lost on the pre-surgery diet I was on. To be clear then, I have lost 30.5lbs since October 1st and 19.5lbs since I had the surgery four weeks ago. I went ten days during that four week period where I didn't lose a single pound either. My body was in a state of shock and there was no way in hell it was letting go of its hibernation layer. But then for the last week it has been coming off rather quickly.
When I started my pre-surgery diet I was 319lbs and today I was 288.5.
I feel fantastic now. My energy has me going steady until about 7pm and then I crash. I am sleeping for at least seven hours a night. Each day is still pretty much the same regarding food- five to six meals a day of half a cup servings. The meals are high protein and still soft so my stomach can deal with them easily.
Since I am now four weeks post-op, I am now cleared for all activity! I have to start with some weight training and increasing my walking each day. Another week or so and I will add some more foods into my eating plan. Slow steps, but I am making it!

Me earlier this week (weight 290). Not sure if you can see the difference, but I sure can! |

Definitely noticeable! WOW!
4 weeks already!!! Good work! Increased energy is definitely an excellent side effect of the surgery!
This Friday will be my 2 years. I can't believe it either.

Way to go, Kara! And yes, you can totally tell. I was thinking that when you posted the hat pictures the other day!
Noticeable fo' sho'!
You are looking great, girll! Eating 5 or 6 times a day is how we should all be eating - small servings, quality food! Hooray for you!
I can definitly see a difference in you already. Your skin tone looks great as well. Ps. This blog is kick ass! Keep up all the good work:)
You look amazing - this was the best decision for you. Looking forward to seeing the changes over the next few months.
Amanda
PS - PG kind of feels like the far north today.
Congratulations - there is definitely a difference between the two pictures.
You're in the TWOS!!!! So proud of you. And yes, totally noticable. You're lookin' good!
Way to go Kara! I wish I paid attention to my meals as much as you do. I'm horrible for that. I admire your self-discipline and determination. I know Lisa was so happy when she broke through the 200lb mark. I know for her that she set mini-goals of where she wanted to be and we would celebrate each milestone as she passed it. It's so funny what a gradual process it is and its really weird looking back at older photos of her. I noticed how your face looked different too. Its one of the things I began to notice first with Lisa. From a male perspective I love showing off before and after shots to some of my fellow workers and seeing the shocked looks on their faces. Her surgery was 2 years ago this coming January but it seems so far in the past now. Hope you hit all your goals. Its awesome! Again, best of luck on your journey.
