Faro, after three long years, finally has a gas station!
Okay, gas station might be a bit of an overstatement. We have a tank. A big tank. A tank full of gas and diesel. Sort of a gas station right?
Right now there are still some issues with the card lock, so for a couple of hours during the day one member of our town council waits there in his truck and fills up anyone who comes by with cash. But after three years of jerry cans and slip tanks, I don't hear any complaints!
So if you are thinking of touring around our beautiful territory this summer, make sure The Yukon's Best Kept Secret is on the top of your list of communities to visit. Worth the drive even more now that we have gas!

How exciting. Crazy to think of a town, especially one that is more on the remote side, surviving without a gas tank/station. way to go Faro!!
When I pulled in on Friday, I was super excited to say "Fill it up, please!" I'm kind of embarassed by how thrilled I was...what a rube ^_^
Hey Kara! That's pretty cool! I sure hope that Santa brings that council member a little something extra for his stocking... hummmm...I wonder if Mrs Clause has a spare jar of homemade preserves ? ;)
Congrats Faro!!!!!
BTW ... I bet EVERYONE was just as excited as Erica !! Just too cool!
