Seal Mittens

This mitten making wonder woman is at it again!! So far this month I have made nine pairs of mittens and they are looking amazing. This last pair was made from a gorgeous coat that I almost hated to cut up! It is Alaskan fur seal that has been sheared and dyed black. It is so soft and warm! Even as I was sewing them together my hands were getting hot and that was before I put a nice fleecy liner in them. The lucky owner of these mittens lives right here in Faro and seems very happy with her purchase.

Sadly, I am out of hide until I get to town next week to purchase more. This weekend I hope to start on a pair of wrap mukluks for another Faroite. He has given me an old one to take apart and use for a pattern. I sure hope I can make it!

And now I need a new contractor....

Yep. Today just isn't my day.

Nose still hurts and the boy managed to hit it again with his hand. Ouch.

And then the second contractor that we have lined up to put in our windows has said he cannot do it due to poor health. Okay, someone out there MUST know a reliable contractor that can install 10 windows for us!!! The windows are paid for and we will be bringing them home in two weeks. Please, if you know of someone who can do it for us in the next 10 months or so, please oh please let us know. We can room and board them, whatever is needed.

What a day.

Not my day!

It is only twenty after nine this morning and I already know that this is not going to be a pleasant day.

The boy woke up at 5am for the 5th day in a row. He loves 5am. I love 6am. Why oh why can't he sleep another hour?? And there isn't time for a morning nap today because it is playgroup today. He is going to be some pissy.

Then right before Matt was heading out to work, the boy gave me a wicked head-butt to the nose. My nose crunched. Seriously. It crunched so loud Matt heard it. I yelped and ran to the bathroom with a bloody nose and tears in my eyes. It is now an hour and a half later and it is still so tender. I put ice on it, and so far it isn't swollen and no bruising.

*** run to catch boy....

As I was typing I looked over and there is my boy shaking his bottle of milk in the living room. Milk was all over. As I ran over he began shaking even more vigorously.

Anyone want a kid today? I will sell him cheap! Heck, I might even pay you to take him today!

My little apple eater!

The boy loves to eat apples. However, he is quite particular on how he eats them. He will not eat slices or pieces. It has to be the whole thing at once!! Throughout the day he will eat at least half of this apple. I spent the day playing find the apple!

Eating bubbles!

I guess bubbles left over from a sink full of dirty dishes is absolutely delicious! Or at least my kid thinks so.
