Hunter Clan Reunion

My dads side of the family got together for the second year in a row. I missed out last year since we had just had Hunter and weren't about to fly back down south again. Hunter and I were able to make it this year, but Matt had to stay here in Faro and work. The whole event was a blast! I got to see family that I hadn't seen in at least 15 years. Many of my cousins now have kids of their own and I finally got to meet them. I can't wait to do it again!

Strawberries

The wild strawberries are out and my yard is full of them. Matt wants to landscape our horrible yard, but I am now in love with it because of the berries. Not sure what is going to come of this war!

Little gopher is addicted to the strawberries and is eating about a cup of them everyday. On our walks each day I take a little container to store the berries I steal from everyone else's yards.

I love being a mom

I love being a mom. Really I do. Mainly because I can do stuff like this to my kid and then take pictures:


Not as much fun as lick and stick with cheerios though. For bored parents needing a laugh use the multigrain cheerios instead of the plain. They stick better.

Lovin' this small world

I sent out the once a year mass email to everyone on the list giving an update as to how our year was. A friend who lived in Kugluktuk during part of the time we were wrote back to say hi and said if we were ever in Vancouver (her new home) to come for a visit. Well as luck would have it I was just in the process of trying to book a hotel for an overnight in Vancouver on the trip to my family reunion! So we spent a fun filled night with Lilian. It was great to catch up with a friend that I hadn't seen in about 2 years. I really do love this small world we live in.

New Picture for Tina

Tina at Just Below 63 was complaining that I needed to update my header picture. Now this one is still a couple of months old, but it is pretty damn cute I think. Still doesn't beat the last picture I had up there, but I will cave to the peer pressure to change it.

Canada Day in Faro

Okay, I am playing a bit of catch up on the blog here so bare with me for a few days!

Canada Day in Faro was pretty much the same as Kugluktuk. Everything that has wheels and a siren goes around town followed by kids on bikes, quads and a few trucks! Not as many quads following the parade here though, but I liked that everything in the parade was all decorated up! The parade goes all around town and then ended at the recreation complex where the amazing Bekk family (they were calling themselves the VonBekks) sang O'Canada and a very unique and catching tune they wrote about Canada. Then we all went inside for hotdogs and cake. After that on to the visitors centre for ice cream. Lots of fun!

Tomorrow Hunter and I are leaving for BC for a week. We are flying to Dawson Creek for a family reunion. Should be entertaining as I haven't seen some of the family members in about 15 years. So many of my cousins now have kids and I have never met them! It will be a traditional red-neck gathering complete with a pig roast. Things are never boring when the Hunter Clan gets together!
